Microneedling
1. Active Acne: Microneedling can exacerbate acne and spread bacteria, leading to further breakouts.
2. Skin Infections: Conditions like herpes simplex or any other infections should be fully healed before undergoing microneedling.
3. Rosacea: This condition can be aggravated by microneedling, leading to increased redness and irritation.
4. Eczema or Psoriasis: These inflammatory skin conditions can worsen with microneedling.
5. Keloid Scarring: If you are prone to keloid scars, microneedling may not be suitable as it can trigger the formation of new scars.
6. Blood Disorders: Conditions like hemophilia or other bleeding disorders can increase the risk of excessive bleeding.
7. Recent Facial Surgery: If you’ve had recent facial surgery or laser treatments, it’s essential to wait until the skin has fully healed.
8. Pregnancy: It’s generally advised to avoid microneedling during pregnancy due to the lack of research on its safety in pregnant women.
9. Immunosuppressive Therapy: Those undergoing treatments that suppress the immune system should avoid microneedling to prevent complications.
10. Severe Solar Keratosis: This condition can be exacerbated by microneedling.
Chemical Peels
1. Active Skin Infections: Conditions like herpes simplex or bacterial infections should be treated before undergoing a chemical peel.
2. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Many chemical peels are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks.
3. Recent Facial Surgery or Laser Treatments: Your skin needs time to heal from these procedures before undergoing a chemical peel.
4. Severe Sunburn: Sunburned skin is more sensitive and can react adversely to a chemical peel.
5. Eczema or Psoriasis: These conditions can worsen with a chemical peel.
6. Rosacea: Like microneedling, chemical peels can exacerbate rosacea.
7. Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane): You should wait at least 6 months after stopping isotretinoin before having a chemical peel due to the increased risk of scarring.
8. Keloid Scarring: If you are prone to keloid scars, a chemical peel may not be suitable.
9. Compromised Immune System: A weakened immune system can increase the risk of infections and complications.
10. Allergies to Peel Ingredients: Always check the ingredients of the peel to ensure you are not allergic to any of them.
IPL
1. Pregnancy: IPL treatments are generally not recommended during pregnancy.

3. Tanned Skin: Recently tanned skin, either from the sun or tanning beds, can increase the risk of burns and pigmentation issues.
